Farewell PP...

PP died.

太快了,让我有点措手不及。

Dad says when he went out just now, ard 5pm, she was still alive, panting for breath thou. But when he came back half an hour later, she was already still, and.... I touched her... and suddenly, I felt so scared, she was very cold. This is the first time i touched a dead body.... I was really scared.

Even though the avergae life span of a hamster is 1-2 years, I still felt that my hamster could have lived longer, if I had taken better care of it, if I had stayed at home more often, if I had given her more time, if I had shower her with more care and concern. PP would be a happier hamster. I used to play with her everyday when I was in NIE hall. I used to wash her cage as often as twice a week (being a lazy person like me). But after I moved home, got attached, and started my teaching life, I have so many things be be busy with that I really negelected her. And all these are just excuses. Lousy excuses. I have not fulfilled my responsibility and commitment. It is my fault. I am guilty.

我想我再也不会养小动物了。以前我很想要一只小狗,但是我知道我还是不适合养。
因为我无法承受一个生活中的生命从我身边离开的现实。

PP,走好了。下辈子找个好主人。

Another lousy day

Today is another lousy day.

My feet are still swollen and painful, the bites are still itchy, walking is still painful and I wonder how I am going to go to work like this tml.

My hamster is very sick... last nite before I slept I went to take a look at her and she was panting heavily. PP has been sick for some time, has infection in her right eye. I cleaned away lotza pus in that eye ystr, poor PP.

Then I realised she has been without water for one whole day. Mum says she was still kicking lively a day ago. That makes me feel really guilty. I haven't been taking good care of her recently, and she muz be sad.

Today she refused to drink and eat, and is totally weak to even walk ard, I think she doesn't have many days ahead... and I feel really sad. She has been with me for a year, since I bought her in NIE, and seeing a life leaving u is something which I have not experienced personaly before, not animals, not human.

I dunno how long she can hold on, but I defnitely wont want to discard her into the rubbish chute even if she dies. That's too cruel.

The weekends passed so fast, a few hours later it will be the start of another week again. I have tons of things to do, but dun feel like doing at all. No mood, really no mood. Just like when u have no appetite for any food, u really dun want to eat. Haiz.

A lousy day

Today is a lousy-turned-happy-turned-lousy day.

This morning, I went for the MOE's sports for life event (my sch signed up for it so as a young person, I have no reason not to support rite?) I participated in the 2km walk test. The event was from 7am to 10am.

I took the school bus at 730am (because dunno how to go there myself) and we reached NIE old campus stadium at ard 745am. There were already many people waiting for their turn to take the walk test and the run test. We saw some of our colleagues there, they were there very early, heard some of them reached ard 645am,and they took the first round of the test. Then we realised we were quite late, cos our no are 400plus (mine is 485), and we were the last batch of people to be tested. Haiz, that would mean we have to wait for close to 500 people to finish their test before it will be our turn! (500 cos some were taking run test).

We were told that the approximate waiting time is an hour but it was longer than that. We started our test ard 945am, after the long wait. My PE HOD was very nice, he brought newspapers and drinks for us to keep us 'occupied' but i was too tired to read it. I took a short nap on the audience stand! (and therefore did not even hear MM's call). The weather was hot, and I only had some bread as breakfast, not enough for a mega eater like me =(

But the happy thing was, we went to the nearby Adam Road's Prata Place for breakfast. This eating house offers over a hundred different kinds of prata, the most expensive ones cost $6. Too exp for me thou I wanted to try the Italian prata (think looking from the ingredients, it will taste like pizza). Had lime juice also, not bad but too on the sweet side. So it was a happy meal experience, with the colleagues who went for the test. And then, during the meal, we calculated (rough calculation) our scores to see which category we are in and I was surprised to find out I got a GOLD! I can't believe it u noe... but I know my heart beat rate was quite good- -> 113.

Then comes the lousy part. Went to Bishan Park for a walk with MM on friday nite, and ended up with 40 mosquito kisses (without realising it at that time, I only felt a needle poke kinda pain but cun find where the bites are, it only start hurting this morning). MM was untouched cos he wore long pants with socks and shoes! And I wore skirt! and sandals! So I got it loh. And noe wat, the mosquitoes there are really big mega poisonous. The bites I got are unlike the normal ones I had in the past, it bc untorerably itchy and painful today. I wore sports shoes and worse, I cant even scratch them! As time goes by it bc more n more itchy, so much so that when I reached home ard 930pm, I spent 15mins to give each and everyone of it a good scratch! Cant help it, know I shdn't do it but cant bear the itch. Then it bc painful, feet swollen, and felt hot, burning sensation and bleed. MM told me to run them under cold water, tried it and it feels a little better. Nevertheless, had some difficulty walking (cos it feels like sun burnt skin when i walk). U may think I'm overexaggerating it but it's true! Dun believe, wait u get 40bites from these monster blood suckers then u noe...

--------------------------------
Went to Suntec City to meet up with my parents for a Health Exhibition after the walk test. Nothing much interesting, except to discover one machine which dries fresh fruits and flowers and a fruit peeler plus cutter and core extractor (which works 3 at the same time). We had a hearty buffet porridge at Congree downstairs, weekend rate was $9.80. Not bad, cos they have a wide variety of dishes like Hokkein, Hainanese, Cantonese style. And desserts too.

After that, we went to Bugis Junction's M1 Shop to look at the phones on promotion as well as to change my current Prime plan to Suntalk 150. Wanted to change my phone to Siemens SF65 but then they say no more stock. Bu4 gan1 xin1 u noe, so I made a reservation and hopefully, in two weeks time I can get the phone. It isn't one with great functions but it has good camera functions and looks elegant enough. The phones that I'm using now are quite obselete already, so it's time to change to a more "up to date" one. =)

So that's how I spent my Saturday. Waking up early (no extra sleep/rest), itchy feets, no hp, got a Gold award for the walk test and ending with 《天龙八部》's final episode.

Yes, next week will be 《射雕英雄传》, dunno nice anot, but dun think will be as nice as 《天龙八部》,cos dun like some of the actors in the show.

A tiring day...

Today I went to the Carnival@Marina with my parents.

It was a tiring trip, with a combination of many unpleasant things all taking place at the same time.

First of all, I am sick. I have been sneezing and my nose have been running non-stop since this morning, and I had a sore sore throat. Mum says it muz be the dozens of longans i ate the nite before, possible, cos longan is heaty fruit, not good to eat too many. Anyway, overdose of anything is no good, so serves me right =(

Then, it was the trip itself... we were there too tooo toooooo early.........

Though the whole carnival was supposed to start from 10am onwards, the only event that starts at this time is Auto Drag, and my parents are not interested in cars at all. The main show starts at 5pm, though programmes like Total Defence exhibition is in the afternoon. Okie, that's fine, but I still do not think we need to be that early, almost the first one to be there!

Mum explained why we need to be early: they want to be back home in time for the 《天龙八部》which starts at 9pm. Alright, fine, that's reasonable, but to set off from home right after breakfast is still toooooooo early.... my Kiasu parents, haiz...

Before we set off, I actually checked the programme schedule and suggested that since there's still more than enough time, maybe we can go visit the New National Library first before going to the carnival. I just didn't want to walk around the island in such a hot weather, and today is really hotter than any other day (I may not wrong, cos have been hiding in air con room during normal working days, but at least, that's how i felt, today is hot, full-stop). I seldom sweat like that and I hated the sticky feeling. MM knows that very well *wink* And when one feels frustrated and irritated, nothing will be enjoyable. I was grumbling inside me (dare not say it out, cos scared Dad will be unahppy).

But last min, Dad changed his mind, and decided to go for the carnival first. They wanted to wait for the Zheng Ho exhibition next month before paying the new lib a visit. And alas, I made a big mistake which added to the unhappy experience. I mistaken Marina South as the space besides the Esplanade! Everyone knows how far it is to walk from City Hall MRT to Esplanade, imagine how malu i looked standing at the empty space there. Then how? By then, I had used up 2 packets of tissues and was still tearing non stop, I didn't want to walk back to take the MRT again! So we took a cab, thinking at least it would save us the time and energy to walk back to the train station and take the bus after that.

We must be really down on our luck. We were stopped by the police halfway, cos the Taxi dun have the official car label to enter the compound, damn! We had to talk 10 mins to the bus stop to take Bus 400! What's the diffc then? I dun noe. The whole thing never start right from the beginning, and all my mood was spoilt before even reaching that stupid place.

We were given a map at the entrance but I think the person who draw up the map shouldl be hammered. Marina South is soooo damn big! Every "village" is far far apart that we can only see the tents from afar, yet they look so close to each other on the silly map. And because we were too early, many stalls were not set up yet. All the staffs there were busying preparing for the Opening Ceremony by Mr Nathan at 6pm.

I think I have to stop my grumbling and complains here, cos this blog will goes on and on if i continues. MM will be hearing it for the second time cos I just spent half an hour rattering about all these to him (thanx for the patience dear).

Now the lesson learnt.... Never be too early for any event, unless it's a first-come-first-serve one. The "early birds gets the worms" theory doesn't apply to the former scenario. And also, the gist of any event will always be after the Offical Opening Ceremony (like tml nite, there'll be F.I.R in the concert but I won't want to go there again).

For those of you who are still enthusiatic about paying that carnival a visit, the suggested minimum touring time needed is 4hours but I tell u, it'll take longer than that, I took 5 hours to briefly covered most parts before dragging myself home, so be prepared... dun say I never warn you first...

And am so dead tired now with piles of work undone (suppsoed to do some today), but one thing is good (the only good thing to feel happy about) --> it is a family day =)
